1.How did you know this competition? and what motivated you to apply?
I applied to the competition because I wanted to have the opportunity to be heard in new places in the world. I knew it was a special one because of how great Mr. Matsushita and the choir and are with every performance. Plus, as a composer, the opportunity for Mr. Matsushita and the jury to know my music is a dream come true that I could not let pass.

I felt overwhelmed with joy and excitement! I could not stop smiling and feeling lucky for this opportunity. I was happy that the competition was live streamed. People from all over the world watched with me, including Venezuela, the United States, even New Zealand! Everybody could enjoy the wonderful premiere of Ave, Regina Caelorum.

3.How did you feel when your piece was firstly premierd by the Metropolitan chorus of Tokyo?
The performance was so powerful and all the people that listen to it comment on how incredible the choir sounds. I was happy and full of energy and, when it ended, I felt exactly what I wanted the piece to communicate. I am incredibly thankful for the choir’s musicality, dedication, and care for my piece.

4.Please send message for following applicants.
I recommend every composer to take the chance and send their work to this wonderful organization. Every step was rewarding and I felt taken care of, always informed. This competition is a life-changing event. It challenges you to grow as a composer. I know Ave, Regina Caelorum would not be what it is if not for this competition.
